Under Alabama’s new abortion ban, rapists could now sue for custodial rights over children from women who were forced to carry to term after being impregnated from a sexual assault.

The aforementioned abortion prohibition, dubbed “The Alabama Human Life Protection Act“, makes it a felony for anyone to perform the medical procedure.

In every other state, women can seek an abortion in cases of rape or incest.

Under Thailand child custody law, both parents have full custodial rights to their children unless a court specifies otherwise.

Alabama’s ban only allows for abortions when the health of the child or mother would be put in serious jeopardy at birth.

Additionally, Alabama and Minnesota are the only states that allow rapists to pursue custody of a child that was conceived through forced sex.
