Prenuptial agreements are rising considerably in America, and according to a study by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML).

The study surveyed attorneys on whether or not they had seen an increase in the number of prenups being sought by marrying couples.

The answer was a resounding yes.

Over 60% of the attorneys questioned said the total number of clients seeking prenups jumped in recent years.

Of those who saw an increase, the majority said the rise could be attributed to Millennials signing prenups.

Prenuptial agreements in Thailand differ from prenups in western countries as they have to be officially registered in Thailand rather than just a private agreement.

Attorneys specializing in prenuptial agreements state that Millennial couples, despite often having less hard assets than previous generations, are more interested in the few assets they do have in case of a split.

On top of that, younger generations are more accepting of the idea of divorce and see it as a realistic possibility for any couple in the future.

In short, they don’t see prenups or divorce as taboos.
