Australia’s longest running divorce case has finally ended after 14 years and more than $40 million spent on legal fees.

Justice Paul Cronin officially ended Australia’s longest ever and most expensive court after he rejected an appeal by the woman involved to retain the family’s assets, instead of a settlement of $2 million.

The woman also had a plea for a $4,000 weekly allowance refused by the judge.

Divorces in Thailand typically require legal assistance to avoid any unnecesary problems and lengthy disputes.

The divorce case was so drawn out because the woman kept ignoring court dates and filing deadlines for relevant documents.

Throughout the court case, over 700 documents were filed and 16 law firms were used.

The couple had been married for 11 years before the infamous divorce case began all the way back in 2005.
